Many Forest Friends Bunnies

Happy day to everyone! I am so excited to share this card with you today. Of course it's a challenge card! One I haven't participated in for quite some time. A Kristina Werner Color Inspiration Challenge! When I saw the colors my first thought was, "I always have trouble with these five color challenges." Luckily, it didn't take long for me to come up with an idea. I think I was channeling Andy Warhol. I don't know Andy Warhol ever worked with bunnies, though! Anyway, this is how I solved my dilemma!
Once I stamped them, I really began to like these colors together. I used the Forest Friends set. The Riding Hood Red bunny is may favorite, but I let the Cameo Coral one have the spotlight. Can you believe the other stamp set I used? Mini Borders! It's the oldest set I own. The first set I ever bought. It really did a nice job backing up my bunnies.

I printed the sentiment off the computer. Is it too cheesy? I say it's just sweet. Their tails are mini pom poms cut off some trim. I wasn't sure if giving them tails was a good idea. I didn't want to go TOO far. I think it turned out fine. The dialog box was done by me. The heart is from Big Bold Birthday. Of course about any heart would do. I used Versamark followed by Heat and Stick and then red glitter to express his/her "love."

So, thanks for stopping by again today! I hope to see you again tomorrow with a card showcasing my new stuff!

Another Day, Another Card, Another Snow Day!

Yes, you read correctly, another snow day. I think this is our 4th. Already the school district has taken away every in-service day between now and Easter, PLUS shortened our five day spring break down to four. Still, I LOVE SNOW DAYS! I stamped all day except for the time I was shoveling!

I have tackled 8 challenges today! At this rate I will have to post more than one a day, since all the challenges only run about a week. Now to be honest, I did combine on most cards. So, a color challenge with a sketch challenge, etc. I have more to tackle so it's almost a prerequisite.
This sketch comes from Mary Jo aka Techno Stamper. I was immediately drawn to it because I love working with circles. I've been wanting to make this card for a couple years now. I had the image from Crab & Company all stamped, colored and ready to go. The thing I lacked was inspiration. This came to me pretty quick. I went with the same DSP I used a couple days ago. It's an oldie, but I LOVE Pink Passion, Pretty In Pink and Pumpkin Pie together. The sentiment I printed on the computer. The stacked hearts are from Loads of Love.I hope you don't mind seeing retired sets. I used a lot of them today. I want to give them some love before my order of new stuff comes next week! See you soon!

A Birthday Gift for a Friend

I'm up posting after midnight because I promised a post and I will probably be too busy over the next week! My daughter golfs both Tuesday and Wednesday and my son's last baseball tournament starts on Thursday then goes through Sunday. So much for stamping again this week!

I did have a "must do" project to share. My friend Pam celebrated a birthday last week. So, I needed a card! I used Big Bold Birthday for both the cupcake and the sentiment. I love the sentiment in this set. I use it a lot. I also tried my Jumbo Grommets for the first time! I like 'em!

To package her gift I tried something new. I used a department store box bottom (8x8) and made my own top. I took the white backing chipboard that comes with the designer series papers and covered it with Heat 'n Bond Lite (a fusible webbing.) Then, fused it to the designer series paper, Berry Bliss. I proceeded to score, cut and fold my top. It's not perfect, my edges cracked a bit, but I'd be willing to try it again. I added a belly band, designer paper bow and a tag!

I hope to see you next week??? I do hope so!

In a Happy Orange Mood!

I was in an orange mood when I made these bright, happy cards. I love orange anyway! I don't use it a lot, except around Halloween. So, I consider this my challenge within a challenge.

I made these cards to participate in TaylorVanbruggen's 1st anniversary Cupcake Sketches challenge. I made 9 cards from 9 different sketches. Two were so hideous I won't be sharing them here! If you must see them, they are on my Spilt Coast Stampers gallery under "queeky." They may not be there for long...I may delete them!

I love the Upsy Daisy Card on top. I didn't stamp a sentiment so that I have the option of making it what ever kind of card I choose. Whether it be thank you, sympathy, birthday...what ever! I also like the Eastern Blooms circle card. Believe it or not, I've never done this type of masking. It was so quick and easy. I just love the results. The last card is the cute little whale from Pun Fun. I omitted his spout and used the candle from the retired goodie Fun Filled. I think it's whimsical!

Hope you enjoyed today selections! Check in tomorrow. I will be sharing the 4 other keepers!

Challenge over at Moved to the Mountains!

I was burfing yesterday and came across a wonderful blog, Moved to the Mountains. Toni is celebrating her blogoversary and has been giving away goodies the last 5 days. The last challenge was to make a "celebrating" card. So, this is my attempt. It's kind of a hybrid from my So Sweet card I did for Kristina's Color Inspiration, here. Plus, a cute idea I ran across at Stamp and Smile, here. I wasn't totally happy with my card I did for Kristina's challenge, so he was my chance to try again! Toni's daughter will choose her favorite for the last batch of goodies! HOPE YOU LIKE IT, NATTIE!!!
