Loads of Love - Color Throwdown #100

You will not believe what kept me from stamping last night..........a bug!  I'm not saying I was sick.  I mean an actual bug!  This has to be a first!  About 6:00 pm I realize my air conditioning isn't cooling.  It's getting uncomfortable in the house.  I discover the outside compressor isn't coming on.  Well, hubby is out of town, so I call my dad.  He gives me several (time consuming) suggestions to try and remedy my situation.  None of it works.  So, tired and disgusted, I decide to call it a night.  This morning dad comes over to try his hand with no luck.   I run off the my son's baseball games while dear dad stays behind waiting for the serviceman.  Turns out a bug, more precisely an earwig, had crawled between the electrodes in the compressor.  I wouldn't have believed it but dad saw it with his own eyes.  The serviceman was gone in about 15 minutes.  I was out $72 bucks!  I'm just thankful that's all it was!  A new unit might have cost me some stamping supplies!

In the end it turned out that the extra time gave me the opportunity to think about card ideas for the Color Throwdown.  It's their 100th challenge and they are celebrating!  The girls are giving away over $1600 dollars worth of goodies!  Check it out HERE and get all the details.

The final piece of this card came after I had time to think.  I made my own clouds to place my sentiment.  It was fun to do and I think they turned out pretty good!

Squeaking In

Here I am, squeaking in a post before the day is gone. Tuesday is my busy errand running day. I had a fair amount of product to deliver, too. Happy ladies have goodies to play with now. This evening, hubby, the kids and I went out to dinner to the Texas Roadhouse. I have been such a good girl watching my eating, I threw it all out the window tonight. After dinner we stopped by Target and bought this teeny-tiny decadent chocolate cake (and ice cream, of course!) Kenna said, "I don't know if I can eat that! It's too much chocolate!" We took it home and cut into 4 small pieces. Kenna stuck to her word and didn't have any. It was sooo rich. I said to Mark, we should have cut it into 6 pieces, it was that rich! I spent the rest of the night watching American Idol and recovering.

Tonight's card features one of my favorite new sets in the catalog, Cheep Talk. Honestly, I have been saving these two feathers for over a year waiting for the perfect card. The bright colors I used go perfectly with these vibrant feathers. I am loving this card. My one "mistake." I decided to put the sun in the corner after the card was constructed. I should have masked it off because I got ink on the Tempting Turquoise base. I think I will look for more feathers the next time I hit the craft store! Too much fun!

Kristina's Color Inspiration #43

On such a gloomy day, what a bright spot to have a go at another one of Kristina's Color Inspirations. I just love it these colors. Although it's always a real challenge to me when she chooses a lot of colors for the palette. The blue really threw me for a loop. I figure if I use each color moderately it will look more pleasing. I did manage to get all the colors in there, although the Ruby Red is very sparse (only the mane on the lion.) I've only had Wild About You for a couple of months, so this is the first time it's seen ink. The bird from Cheep Talk came just last week. It really didn't realize until halfway through the card that I chose dots and stripes, just like the inspiration picture. Funny how your sub conscience has it's say, huh?
