Think Pink....and Lots of it!

I was such a bad blogger last year.  I have a backlog of cards I could post.  Since I'm trying to do some actual work today, I thought I'd share some of those cards I made.  I sent out a lot of Valentine's last year and evidently I was enamored with pink, too.  Here's just a few for now....

I believe this one was inspired by a photo in the Stampin' Success magazine from Stampin up!  The background is En Francais.  The sentiments from Fancy Flexible Phrases.

Same with this one.  I gave it to my friend, Pam.  She had shared this ribbon with me.  It uses Valentine Defined, plus Love You Much.

I love this one with the tiny yo-yo's.  They are about 3/4" and I made them with the Clover (Extra Small) Yo-Yo Maker.  The stamps are Fine Flourish along with Wonderful Words.

Love using the puffy paint on this little sheep from Pun Fun.

I had fun making this 3-D flower.  Hello Doily and Lots of Thoughts are the stamps.

Now onto some more work....see ya soon, though!

Pun Fun - Curtain Call #44

Another week...another Curtain Call challenge!  Are you ready for a colorful challenge?  Here's the inspiration photo Stacey chose for us this week.

Once I focus on a set to use for the challenge I rarely change my mind.  I thought this little bird from Pun Fun would look cute with this color combo.

I used some flower-soft-like product on his belly, wings and tail.  I was kinda of fun...but tight filling in those little areas.  I had these three pieces of ribbon cut to use (originally in a different manner.)  I was determined to use all three...which explains the floating turquoise down the center.  Maybe I shouldn't mention these things....yeah, I planned it that way!

So what do the other girls have up their sleeves this week?

Amy White @ Devlinwhite Designs
Andrea Roose @ Andrea Scrap - und Stampel-Blog
Iwona Palamountain (Chupa) @ Random Acts of Creativity
Julie Smith @ Paper and Such
Lea Lawson @ Lea's Cupcakes & Sunshine
Marisa Ritzen @ Rosemary Reflections
Melissa Hubert@ My Paper Obsession
Sue Kohler@ My Inner Reflection

And our August guest designer.  Teresa Kline @ Enjoy the VA Sunshine

And our leader....Stacey @ Stacey's Stamping Stage

Remember, if want to join us, link to your creation on Stacey's post.  At the end of the challenge period she will choose 5 great projects that will earn the Curtain Call Show Stopper badge.  One talented person will get the Lead in this week's Curtain Call!

Kristina's Color Inspiration #40

How happy was I when I went Kristina's site today to see she's back from Disneyland and posted a new challenge. Great to "see" you Kristina! You sure were missed! I was talking with a girlfriend of mine about how much we look forward to going to your site!

Initially, I thought I would go with a spring floral theme. Almost immediately I switched to "boyish." I had seen a card Beate had done many, many months ago using stars and this stamp and I've been wanting to put my spin on it. I used the Taken with Teal dotted paper from Loves Me as the anchor for my stamped image. I inked the rocket, then embossed with black ink to have it pop a little more. Water coloring so much fun once you have watercolor paper! I masked off the rocket and sponged Taken with Teal in the remaining background. Most of the stars are all cut out of So Saffron, just the one on the bottom middle is More Mustard. I had to embellish my stars with a stamp from Priceless inked in Versamark, then embossed with clear embossing powder. Sponging More Mustard on the largest star really made the image stand out. I did sew around and DP paper and the only thing I would like to change is, I wish I had stitched around the stamped image too. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy. I'd love to hear what you have to say!

In a Happy Orange Mood!

I was in an orange mood when I made these bright, happy cards. I love orange anyway! I don't use it a lot, except around Halloween. So, I consider this my challenge within a challenge.

I made these cards to participate in TaylorVanbruggen's 1st anniversary Cupcake Sketches challenge. I made 9 cards from 9 different sketches. Two were so hideous I won't be sharing them here! If you must see them, they are on my Spilt Coast Stampers gallery under "queeky." They may not be there for long...I may delete them!

I love the Upsy Daisy Card on top. I didn't stamp a sentiment so that I have the option of making it what ever kind of card I choose. Whether it be thank you, sympathy, birthday...what ever! I also like the Eastern Blooms circle card. Believe it or not, I've never done this type of masking. It was so quick and easy. I just love the results. The last card is the cute little whale from Pun Fun. I omitted his spout and used the candle from the retired goodie Fun Filled. I think it's whimsical!

Hope you enjoyed today selections! Check in tomorrow. I will be sharing the 4 other keepers!
