Faux Tile Card - A Splitcoast Stampers Technique

I have been wanting to do this card since this technique was featured on Splitcoast Stampers Wednesday Tutorial on January 5th.    It's still on the homepage if you want to take look, but it probably won't last for long.  It's the Faux Tile Technique.  A simple matter of stamping and coloring your image, then cutting it apart into "tiles" which are then given a coat of Crystal Effects.  I really thought my picture was better than this {SIGH.}  My card base and grout look black, when in fact they are Elegant Eggplant.  Plus, my tiles aren't shining through. {DOUBLE SIGH.}

Actually, this is my test card.  I wanted to make sure the Crystal Effects wouldn't smudge my watercolored image like happened with the crackle medium on this card.  All went well, so I have another card to make!  Unfortunately I have to do some other chores first!

FYI- This card qualifies for the Crazy For Challenges ...make a Thank You card.  If you want to take a crack at their challenge!  I need to do some more blurfing...after those chores!

  5. I know you're not happy with the picture, but I think the card looks great! The eggplant color definitely came through on my computer, and I love the way you used half of the Top Note die cut like that. Your coloring is beautiful... really, everything is gorgeous! (Love your CASEd card on the previous post, too.)
