Great Friend - Curtain Call #42

Oh my!  It's been a week since my last post!  Busy times!  I guess it's the last flurry of activities before the kids go back to school.  At the end of the week I treated myself to a day away at the antique flea market.  That was a lot of fun.  Saturday was our town's annual festival, Watermelon Days.  So, I guess it's not surprising I didn't spend any time creating.

Now that we are beginning a new week, let's go straight to the Curtain Call Challenge!

Yummy, warm colors....reminds me of pre-fall days!  Now believe it or not, I haven't bought the new In-Colors yet.  So, some substitutions were in order.  I used Certainly Celery and an old retired In-color, Groovy Guava.

I did struggle with this card a bit.  I think it was sheer exhaustion from a busy week.  The thing I like the least?  My stitching through the butterflies.  My curves aren't as smooth as I would have liked.  Something that should come easily for someone that has sewn for as many years as I have!  Oh well!  Can't be perfect!

Now what will the rest of the Crew create?

Amy White @ Devlinwhite Designs
Andrea Roose @ Andrea Scrap - und Stampel-Blog
Iwona Palamountain (Chupa) @ Random Acts of Creativity
Julie Smith @ Paper and Such
Lea Lawson @ Lea's Cupcakes & Sunshine
Marisa Ritzen @ Rosemary Reflections
Melissa Hubert@ My Paper Obsession
Sue Kohler@ My Inner Reflection

And our August guest designer.  Teresa Kline @ Enjoy the VA Sunshine

And our leader....Stacey @ Stacey's Stamping Stage

Remember, if want to join us, link to your creation on Stacey's post.  At the end of the challenge period she will choose 5 great projects that will earn the Curtain Call Show Stopper badge.  One talented person will get the Lead in this week's Curtain Call!

I love the colours for this week, but don't have any of the new incolours either! Don't even have any guava anymore! lol Hmmmmmm what to do......

  7. So funny that you say you like the stitching the least, because it was the first thing I noticed and I love it! Butterflies don't always fly in a perfectly smooth line either, right? ;) I also love the top note and the way you stitched the twill.

  18. Whew -- after not reading blogs for a long enough time that my reader is showing 1000+ unread, I was relieved to have only missed two of yours! :) The card for your brother-in-law looks perfect and this card with all the stitching is wonderful. Your substituted colors work well and the stitching truly does make an impact (in a positive way!). Hope you're enjoying the waning days of summer -- and it sounds like you are. Good for you!
