What I Did Today Instead of Cleaning!

Yes, my craft room is a mess! Between my scrapbooking, quilting, card making and vintage collecting, it is a down right disaster! I gave myself a little break so I could make ONE card. I decided to do some really current challenges.

Usually I'm a little behind the curve....but not today! I took a stab at three, count 'em THREE! Paper Pal Arts, Mercy's Sketch Challenge and Color Throwdown.

Even though I've been following all of these for some time I believe it's my first time for the PPA and Color Throw Down! Imagine that. They really are FABULOUS challenges. I really took my time on this card. I was in NO hurry to start my cleaning. So, instead of Clean & Simple I went full out! I stamped my image from Friends 24-7 and took some time masking off so I could sponge the bird's breast and the branch. I also sponged around the edge of my circle.

I took a little more time stitch around the edge. I contemplated, "Zig Zag or no?" I went with a simple straight stitch.

The sentiments are from Lots of Thoughts. I simply cut them apart to be little tags. Instead of letting them hang loose, I did use my Glue Pen to fan out the sentiments but I didn't glue them down the the card.

So, now that I'm done, it's off to clean!

  6. Great card, Shelley! Love the way you fanned out and dangled the sentiments. Very clever! So -- still cleaning your stamp room? Mine stays messy, it seems. As soon as I straighten it up a bit, I'll make something and then it's back to disaster-land! Oh, well. I'm just not a neat creator.
