Mother's Day with Elizabeth

Elizabeth, the stamp, not my mother or mother-in-law.  I really do love this stamp and it has not seen enough ink.  Sadly, it will be retiring the end of this month.  Along with just about everything on this card!  I used the Everyday Enchantment DSP from Sale-A-Bration and the doily die cut from the Flirtatious DSP.  Don't recognize it as Flirtatious?  I used my brayer to cover it with Early Espresso ink.  Love it!!!  I sure hope Stampin' Up brings out a die or die cuts to replace these doilies because they are so much fun!

So, I had to get motivated with a challenge, right?

Explosion Box

I think this is called an Explosion Box. I saw a version of it recently on Karen's site....the sweetest thing and it reminded me and still needed to try this one. I had an excellent excuse to make one because my good friend Deb had a birthday this week! Happy Birthday Deb!

Anyway, this is what I came up with. Turned out super cute. I used the same paper I used to make her card HERE. Just a couple of posts ago. I used an 8 1/4" x 8 1/4" piece of card stock. To end up with a 2 3/4" cube. I used a lot of different stamps on this project. I will spare you the details! If you have a question, please get in touch with me. I'd be happy to enable you!

Kristina's Color Inspiration #47

I almost forgot to post for Kristina's challenge! I've got about twenty minutes to spare so I'm not going to be all wordy! I got inspired by Julie Buhler's Manhattan embossed card HERE. Since I don't have that die yet, I'm improvised with what I had on hand. I used the retired From The Garden stamp along with another retired sentiment from All Year Cheer II. I like the results and I love these colors, too. Have a great evening! See ya soon!

Kristina's Color Inspiration #26

Did I miss a day? Ooops! Did anybody notice? I was home all day yesterday sewing and posting totally slipped my mind! Well, then I am overdue for another Kristina's Color Inspiration! I love this color combination, so bright and summer-like. Far from the crazy weather we are having here! Sunny and 55° one yesterday to expecting freezing rain today! It's gloomy out so this card is to contrast that. This is my first acetate card. I wish I could say it went really smoothly. Not the acetates fault, all mine! First, I dropped an inked stamp on my acetate! I hate to waste it, so I cut the it in half. Now I really only have a card front. So, the striped Bashful Blue is my card back and I sew them together. Problem solved....I guess. Not too much more to tell on this one, the flowers are from Eastern Blooms. The swirls from Priceless and the sentiment from All Year Cheer II. Not my best work, for sure but hey I'm on a mission!

In a Happy Orange Mood!

I was in an orange mood when I made these bright, happy cards. I love orange anyway! I don't use it a lot, except around Halloween. So, I consider this my challenge within a challenge.

I made these cards to participate in TaylorVanbruggen's 1st anniversary Cupcake Sketches challenge. I made 9 cards from 9 different sketches. Two were so hideous I won't be sharing them here! If you must see them, they are on my Spilt Coast Stampers gallery under "queeky." They may not be there for long...I may delete them!

I love the Upsy Daisy Card on top. I didn't stamp a sentiment so that I have the option of making it what ever kind of card I choose. Whether it be thank you, sympathy, birthday...what ever! I also like the Eastern Blooms circle card. Believe it or not, I've never done this type of masking. It was so quick and easy. I just love the results. The last card is the cute little whale from Pun Fun. I omitted his spout and used the candle from the retired goodie Fun Filled. I think it's whimsical!
